XKit

XKit 6 was not compatible with some changes Firefox 17, resulting it to not being able to start installation, or if installed, not able to access Extension Gallery and some pages.

Since Firefox updates itself on the background, you might have Firefox 17, but installed XKit before it was released. In that case, XKit might also not function properly.

Anyways, I’ve made it compatible, and uploaded it to the XKit website.

If you have Firefox, please follow the following steps:

1. If you are not on Firefox 17, upgrade to it.
2. Uninstall XKit by going to Tools > Add-ons.
3. Restart Firefox
4. Download XKit again
5. Restart Firefox
6. Go to your dashboard and wait a couple of minutes, the Installer should come up.

If that does not work, going to www.tumblr.com/xkit_reset and resetting XKit before going back to the dashboard should fix it.

I’ve been receiving a lot of asks, and posts about a few things that I think I should comment on:

1. Anon Checker: XKit does not have, nor ever will, have an anonymous tracker/checker. Not only it would be difficult to implement and use (but not impossible), it compromises the whole purpose of having an anonymous option on this website. If you are being harassed by an anonymous person, please turn off Anonymous Asks option, and contact Tumblr support.
   
   
2. Post Limit: There is no way (read, no way) of circumventing the post limit. The Tumblr service checks the post limit server-side. No extension can do that.
   
   
3. English Only: XKit (and myself) is only available in English. If anyone wants helping me on translating it into another language, they are more than welcome though. You can send me an ask about this.
   
   
4. Asks: I get a lot of asks each day. Sorry if I reply slowly, or do not reply at all, especially if they have been answered in the faq/support pages.
   
   
5. Other Extensions, Themes, etc: Some of the themes and extensions add and remove buttons, change layout, etc. Some of them do a very poor job at it, screwing the objects, scripts, etc. that XKit assumes should be there under normal circumstances. This might cause XKit to behave weirdly. Since I can not test all the themes, user-scripts and extensions in the world, if XKit is acting weirdly, please disable other extensions/themes/user-scripts, and update your browser before assuming XKit is the problem.

It looks like Tumblr changed some stuff again, and removed ability to reblog yourself. Before, they allowed people with secondary blogs to reblog their own posts, but they’ve removed the button again. For that, I’ve re-written some parts of the Reblog Yourself extension to gain that functionality back.
