XKit

During an update a couple of days ago, XWidgets were accidentally removed from the Extension Gallery. If you have been trying to get XWidgets and not finding it in the Gallery, that’s the reason.

It’s now back to the Extension Gallery, and I’m sorry about that.

It looks like you need to update your browser. Disabling XKit doesn’t fix it, meaning it is a Tumblr related error.

Upgrading to the latest version of Safari fixes the problem.

What’s new?

1. Fixed a bug that would cause “reblog” text to appear even though there is a reblog button on posts.
2. Now selects “my blog” by default when you reblog one of your own posts (before you had to manually select it from the “Post To” list)

You should get the new version in a few hours.
To update Reblog Yourself now, manually:

1. Click on the X icon on your dashboard
2. Click on Manage Extensions, then Reblog Yourself
3. Click on Re-install / Manually Update this Extension
4. Refresh pages.

Seriously. Don’t worry.

As pointed in a post made earlier this month, Tumblr has no plans on deactivating accounts or deleting blogs for using XKit, or any other extension made to be used on Tumblr.

You can keep on using XKit. =3

This update fixes a bug that would cause the tag “undefined” to appear when answering Anonymous asks.

I see a lot of posts which link to userscripts.org, which only contains Firefox edition of XKit. So if you link someone, please make sure to use xkit.info, since it has the most current information and all versions of XKit (Chrome, Safari and Firefox.)

There was a bug in XCloud that prevented backups from being sent to the server on some XKit configurations. It effected a small number of computers, and it has been fixed now.

You should get the new update in a few hours. If you don’t, please check the post here, since your update manager might be broken. If you don’t want to wait, here’s how you can get it now:

1. Click on the X icon on your dashboard
2. Click on Advanced Settings
3. Click on View Internal Packages
4. Click on xkit_preferences
5. It should read Version 3.5 REV A or higher.
6. If it does not, click Re-install/Manually Update this package
7. Refresh the page, and try to make a backup.

If you are seeing “null notes”…

Apparently, Tumblr made some changes, again, which broke the notes counter on XPreview. It has been fixed now, and you should get the new update in a few hours.

Oh also, it’s up to 2 times faster than the old notes fetching code. =3

This release fixes the Notes count on Preview window on notifications that got broken when Tumblr changed the user interface.

XKit is not just a Follower Checker and a One-Click Reblog extension, you know. =3

You can get a lot more extensions from the Extension Gallery under the X icon on your dashboard.

Here’s some of the stuff available in the Extension Gallery right now:

1. Only-Replies: dims the notifications that are not reply or answer ones, allowing you to quickly respond to replies. (only on XKit!)
2. Open in New Tabs: lets you open nearly all the links on a new tab.
3. Shorten Posts: shortens long text posts and gives you the option to “read more” (only on XKit!)
4. Timestamps: lets you know when that post was made.
5. Post Crushes: lets you post your “Tumblr Crushes”.
6. Profiler: lets you view information about blogs, such as how many text posts it has, and what timezone the blogger is in (only on XKit!)
7. IntelliBlock: hides photos on your dashboard, but with a twist: it tries to determine if the post is actually NSFW before blocking it, leaving “safe” pictures on! (only on XKit!)

And a lot more!
So visit that Gallery to let XKit make Tumblr even easier to use for you. =3

There was a bug in older versions of Timestamps that would cause the browser to hang when visiting the Queue or Inbox pages. It has been fixed in 1.2, and I am really sorry for the inconvenience.
