As today’s “invisible” Tumblr change broke a huge part of XKit, I’ve updated several extensions to work with the changes.
The following extensions are now updated to work with the changes: XInbox, Timestamps, Reblog Yourself, Read More Now, Post Block, Outbox and Old Notifications.
Fortunately, a part of Interface was ready that speeded (or is it “sped”?) up the process. But it was not complete (and needed changes in order to work with Tumblr changes), so you also need to update XKit Patches.
You can wait for an hour or so for it to update itself, or follow the instructions here. Don’t forget to update the extensions manually if you want to get the updates right away.
A recent Tumblr changed removed the class names on HTML that XKit uses to determine which page you are on, breaking included but not limited to XInbox and Old Notifications.
I am working on it. Thank you for your patience.
I’ve created a page with tips for XKit users with the most frequently asked questions, and small tips that I doubt most know, such as the keyboard shortcut for CleanFeed.
It lists (for now) 28 small tips, ranging from beginner to advanced, from disabling/enabling extensions to writing your own.
Take a look, and let me know if I’ve missed your favorite function.
I’ve just received a new Tumblr dashboard update that changes the appearance of the asks and makes them rebloggable.
One-Click Postage is now updated (version 2.6 Rev F) to work properly with that change. I’m not sure if this update changed anything else, so if you hit any bugs, please let me know. Thank you!
Blacklist
I’ve received a lot of asks related to the Blacklist comment I’ve made on the survey results yesterday, so I’ve made some changes based on your suggestions.

First of all, thank you all for participating in the survey! With so many people voting, the probably-10-year-old survey software that came with my web hosting that I use for polls hit a point that it takes several minutes to show results now. (maybe I should write one myself) I’ll be disclosing the results and the decisions I’ve taken, with pretty info-graphics, as soon as possible.
But (I’m pretty sure you are bored of me whining about this), one this that is bothering me: there are people going like “hey, the XKit guy is having a survey, go vote and pressure him into adding a follower checker!”
I’ve said about this before, gave you the reasons, including technical and legal complications. My decision is final, as I made that decision to protect my ass from lawyers. Writing “F**CKING GIVE ME BACK FOLLOWER CHECKER” on the “Anything else you want to add?” section is just adding noise, causing me to miss what people with actual suggestions that would help me and other users wrote.
Please do not do that. I care deeply about all XKit users, this is why I’m doing this survey. And I don’t think there is another extension developer in the world (at least Tumblr world) who does surveys and polls or anything like this to make decisions in order to help you.
Please do not abuse it.
Thank you.

Post Crushes
I must apologize for not regularly replying to asks for the last 1-2 weeks. It was my summer school’s last week, full of presentations and papers to prepare, plus I was working, both at work and on XKit (mainly on Interface). I still read them, and (try to) fix the bugs you’ve sent me. Asks (unless related to Follower Checker or well, rude) will be replied to as soon as possible.
And before you ask, yep, Quick Tags will be added to One-Click Postage as soon as possible. I need to convert it to work with Interface first though, since Quick Tags only works with Interface. Most of the suggestions you’ve sent are added to my to-do list, and they will be implemented too, as soon as possible. But again, for now, I’m trying to convert all extensions to work with Interface only, so they will be much more stable.
Thank you for your patience.

XKit Patches
Important:
Please note that if you haven’t still received the Tumblr Dashboard update with the “Preview panes” and instead see the regular user menu, User Menus+ and Mute won’t work properly, and the Bookmarker, PostBlock and Tag Viewer icons will look really dark (almost black).
There is nothing I can do about this, you’ll just need to wait for Tumblr to update your account, I apologize for this.
Well I’m a moron: I forgot a part of the code (CSS) that mades the rest of the code actually work. It’s now fixed in Rev B, so if you can update User Menus+, it will start working (hopefully.) My apologizes.
You’ve noticed that Tumblr recently pushed a minor update to the dashboard (which I got around an hour ago), which broke XKit’s “Show More” options such as Avatar Magnifier.
Well I’ve made some changes, renamed it to User Menus+, updated it to work with the new menus, and added options such as “Hide previews” and “Hide Unfollow/Follow buttons” (since they are so huge, I imagine a lot of people will accidentally click on them instead of the menu icon)
Tomorrow I’ll be working on providing a “Classic Menu” option, which should save a lot of clicks for frequently used options such as sending an ask, and will be fixing some of the icons that got “faded away” with today’s update. Thank you for your patience.

Reblog Yourself
(aka, back-pedalling since I would like my ask box to stop exploding.)
Even though I explained the reason behind the “Automatically Remove Captions” feature, stating it’s human nature to remove things, and people would always find a way to remove captions and credit, and it’s really easy to get to the credits if one wants, I guess some people really like their credits/captions.
So in order to maintain my sanity, “Automatically Remove Captions” feature is removed as of version 2.5 REV C of One-Click Postage. You can still click on the Remove Caption button on One-Click Postage to remove it quickly and easily. I apologize for this.
Today’s update included an option under One-Click Postage which allows the user to automatically remove the captions of photo/photoset posts.
And I’ve received a lot of asks about this, so I’m going to write about it here, the intention I had behind that feature. Let me start by saying it was not done to strip photos off their author information or credits.

I love transparency. So here is an update on what is going on, about XKit, XIM and Filter-By-Type.
XKit version 7.2.1 is now available to download for Firefox users. It is highly recommended that you update to this version.
This version fixes the “$ is not defined” error (hopefully!). I apologize for the time it took for me to fix this, I always thought it was related to jQuery/DOM, just today realized it was related to network-related code.
It also fixes some of the less annoying/noticeable problems, such as the Storage panel under Others always showing that you use 0% of your storage.
To download it, just go to the Download page and re-install XKit. It will automatically update itself, preserving your settings.

You will receive the updates in an hour or so, or you can update the extensions manually from the XKit Control Panel.

The XKit Guy
First of all, thank you so much for your nice messages. I will be answering all of them next week, but for today I’ll be reading and replying to bug related ones.
Well after today’s forced break from my break, I’ve decided to work on the blog to bring it into the 21th century. If you visit it now, you’ll see it has a brand new look that (hopefully) will let you view updates much easier.
Each post also now has a “header” showing it’s “category”, such as “New Extension” or “Important Announcement”, and “Today’s Update” posts are shortened since they mostly have bug fixes (or minor new features).
I hope you like it.
Well isn’t this lovely. Just one day after me deciding to take a short break, Tumblr changes the URL of the Activity page, image sizes and some class names and breaks Activity+ and One-Click Reply.
Anyways, today’s update fixes both. You should get the new updated versions of both extensions in a few hours, or you can update manually from the control panel. Sorry about this.
Just letting you know that I won’t be making any updates to XKit for a while (~5-6 days) and might not be able to answer your asks, or respond to Tumblr changes and fix extensions as quickly as I try to do right now.
Read mored, I apologize if you are on mobile.
A recent Tumblr change broke XInbox, causing non-anonymous people to get tagged as “Anonymous”, and anonymous people to get tagged with either your URL or nothing.
XInbox 1.4 Rev F fixes this. Sorry for the inconvenience.
