Introducing XCloud!
XCloud allows you to backup your XKit preferences (installed extensions and customized settings) to STUDIOXENIX servers. When you reset XKit, or move from a computer to another, just click Restore button, and XKit replaces all the data from the latest backup.
There are two “kinds” of restores:
- Clean Restore: Deletes all XKit data on your computer, replacing them with the backup, and re-installs all extensions on the backup.
- Semi-Clean Restore: Keeps the data not found on the backup, and replaces the others. (not recommended.)
Using XCloud is simple: just register an ID, and then use that ID to restore and backup your settings. It’s free, simple, and takes only a few seconds.
To use XCloud, you need XKit 5.7 or higher. Click on the X icon on your dashboard, then “About + Support” to view your framework version.
If you have XKit 5.7 or higher:
- Click on the X icon, then XCloud Settings to backup and restore.
If you have XKit 5.6 or lower:
- Upgrade to the latest version.
- Perform a clean install by going to www.tumblr.com/xkit_reset (sorry about that.)
- Click on the X icon, then XCloud Settings to backup and restore.
Note that this service is still in early beta, so things might go wrong. If they do, please send me an ask by going to XKit Troubleshooting Page.
Thank you for using XKit.
