IMPORTANT:
I’ve discovered a bug in Update Manager that could cause XKit to replace extensions with extensions that it didn’t mean to replace while updating.
So, if you are experiencing:
- Slowdowns while refreshing pages
- Features disappearing at random
- Random error messages from “xupdater”
- Not receiving any updates
That’s because of it. Well, I re-wrote the Update Manager from scratch, and (hopefully) it is much stable, and faster than before.
You should get the new update manager in a few hours, but to make sure, please follow the instructions above to upgrade to the latest Update Manager.
If you use XKit 5.7 and above:
- Backup your data with XCloud, and then do a “Full Restore.”
If you use XKit 5.6 or below:
- Click on the X icon
- Select Advanced Settings
- Select View Internal Packages
- Select “xkit_update_manager”
- It should read “Version 3.1” or above. If it does not, click on “Re-install / Manually Update this extension”
Upgrading to the newest Update Manager will also help fix the “corrupt” extensions on your XKit installation, stabilizing the overall XKit experience.
I am really sorry about this, and thank you for using XKit.
