Introducing Interface (kinda boring)

Just a heads up that for the next few days (okay, make that weeks), I will be “converting” extensions to use something I call “Interface.”

Currently, each extension has to implement how to “read data off the page” in itself, so when Tumblr changes stuff, I need to modify (or in some cases, rewrite) all the extensions so they can actually work.

Now they will call Interface to do that. In other words, there will be, in the future, only one point of failure: when Tumblr changes something, I will just need to update Interface, and all your extensions will continue working after that without modifications. It is a tremendous work, but next time Tumblr overhauls the website, all your extensions will be up to date and running in hours instead of days (or weeks).

So why am I writing this? Two reasons: if you have written an extension for XKit, please update them. If you are a user, it means I won’t be able to add a lot of features for the next few weeks since I will be working on this. I apologize for that, but in the end, I think this will allow me to fix bugs and make extensions work in much shorter periods in the future, so I think it’s beneficial for you. Thank you!
