Introducing Post Archiver!

Every once in a while we hit a post that is really useful: it can be a recipe, a website, an audio post we want to listen over and over again, or maybe a post that might come in handy in the future, such as a list of suicide hotlines.

We like them, we reblog them and/or draft them but after a while they get lost. This is where Post Archiver comes in: it saves posts on your computer and lets you organize them. You can rename them, you can categorize them and search them.

Just install it from the gallery, and click on the Save button on any post on your dashboard to get started. You can add/remove/rename categories from it’s control panel, and view saved posts from the button on your sidebar.

It is pretty experimental for now, so if you hit any bugs or have any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you!

Introducing AccessKit

AccessKit is a brand new extension designed to bring accessibility to your dashboard, especially to the people who might have vision problems. It allows you to increase the contrast of icons and text on your dashboard, increase the font sizes, and even invert all the colors or make them grayscale.

It’s pretty experimental, so if you hit any bugs or have any suggestions to increase the accessibility of the dashboard, please let me know.

Thank you!

Introducing Blog Tracker!

Blog Tracker allows you to track blogs like tags.

Add them to your sidebar, and it will show you how many posts they’ve made since the last time you’ve checked their blogs. The count resets when you view their blogs. In addition to that, it also alerts you if they change their URL.

It’s pretty experimental and new at this moment, so if you hit any bugs, please send me an ask while I’m working on more features for it. Thank you! =)

Introducing Quick Tags!

Quick Tags allows you to quickly add tags to your posts without leaving the dashboard, and create “tag bundles”. Using Tag Bundles, you can add multiple tags at once with just one click. It works with posts already created/reblogged and while you are creating a new post.

Please note that you need XKit Patches 1.6 Rev A, or it won’t work properly. Please wait a few hours for XKit Patches to get updated to version 1.6 Rev A, or click here to learn how you can update it manually.

Also, as you can guess from the version number (0.1 Rev A), it is pretty experimental, so if you hit any bugs, please let me know, thank you!

XKit Update, August 3

Well isn’t this lovely. Just one day after me deciding to take a short break, Tumblr changes the URL of the Activity page, image sizes and some class names and breaks Activity+ and One-Click Reply.

Anyways, today’s update fixes both. You should get the new updated versions of both extensions in a few hours, or you can update manually from the control panel. Sorry about this.

Introducing Auto Tagger!

Auto Tagger allows you to automatically tag posts according to their type (audio, video, etc.) and status (posted by you, reblogged, queued) and keep the original tags while reblogging something, allowing you to use tags to organize your blog easily.

Let’s say you’ve set the automatic tags for videos to “video”, and reblogged posts to “not mine”, and reblog something that is tagged “pokemon”, the result will be “#video #not mine #pokemon”.

Important, please read:

I was going to release this tomorrow, since it is dependent on other updates made to XKit to work correctly, but I know how keeping tags and tagging queued posts can be important, this is why I’m releasing it now.

You have two choices: install it tomorrow (or when XKit updates itself), or follow the instructions below:

  1. Update One-Click Postage.
  2. Install the Auto Tag extension
  3. Update XKit Patches (important! - instructions here.)
  4. Refresh the page / Restart your browser

If you install AutoTag without updating One-Click Postage or XKit Patches, Auto Tagger will only work on new posts you create.

Also, It is at version “0.1 Rev A”, so if you find any bugs, please let me know! Thank you =3

Introducing* XCloud

XCloud stores your XKit configuration on its servers, so you can quickly backup your preferences, such as your themes and your blacklisted words, and synchronize them across computers and browsers with ease.

Click Sync to synchronize your XKit with XCloud. When on a new computer/browser or just finished reinstalling XKit, click Restore, and XCloud will restore all your settings, and re-download your extensions automatically.

To get XCloud, just download it from the XKit Extension Gallery, then click on the XCloud tab on your control panel to get started.

(If XCloud tab does not appear, your XKit is yet to receive the latest Control Panel update. You can wait ~45 minutes or follow the instructions here to update it manually.)

The service is still in really early beta, so if you hit any bugs, please let me know by sending me an ask. Thank you!

* Actually, XKit 5 also had a similar service called XCloud, but this is a re-write, and functions a little bit differently.

XKit Update, July 21

First, a message about Tumblr NSFW Policy:

As far as I know, the new Tumblr policy on NSFW blogs is to not show those posts on tag searches. A lot asked me to do something about it, but there is already an option about this: Go to your Tumblr settings > Dashboard and uncheck “Browse tag pages in Safe Mode”.

Secondly, a note about asks:

I’m terribly sorry about this, while testing a new feature I’m working on, I’ve lost around half of the asks on my inbox. If you have sent me an ask before yesterday and still haven’t heard back from me, please send it again. Again, I am so sorry about this. And I hate to bring this back over and over again, but there is this follower checker asks going on still. So if your message was about that, please read that link. Thank you.

And now, today’s XKit updates:

Blacklist 2.0

  • Added ability to whitelist words (experimental)

Notifications+

  • Viewing notes and bigger previews now work on the Activity page

Activity+

  • Ability to view notes only from your mutual follows added

Unreverse and Old Notifications

  • Bug fixes

XKit Update, July 14

Well, actually, I’m still on a break, (today is day 4) and I think you’ve noticed that most of the problems you were having went away without me updating XKit, since I’ve stated before, they were related to Tumblr.  The best way of knowing if something is related to XKit or Tumblr is to just temporarily disable XKit, and see if it continues. (well, that’s what I do at least)

Anyways, I’ve noticed a few small things that were related to XKit, so today’s update is a few small bug fixes. More bug fixes and features will be made available as soon as I, well, feel better.
