XKit Update Dec 8 [2]

The server problems has been fixed.

In order to make it really unlikely to experience such a server failure again, XKit has been updated to support several servers.

If one is down, XKit will automatically try the next one. There are currently 3 servers available. (One of them is still down, and will be until tomorrow.)

I am terribly sorry about this, and I thank you for your patience.

Unfortunately, to get this multi-server feature (and to get XKit working again), you must follow the following instructions. (Please do this even though your XKit installation seems to work correctly.)

  1. Go to http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/109272 and download XKit Framework 0.4.2
  2. Go to https://www.tumblr.com/xkit_reset to perform a clean installation of XKit. Some of your settings, such as your blacklisted words will be saved, but you’ll need to re-install the extensions you got from the Extension Gallery. (It is NORMAL to get a “Page not Found” error at that point, but you also should get a prompt box asking you if you want to reset XKit. If you don’t, the extension is not installed properly.)

Again, I am really sorry about this. Hopefully, this will end all the server problems, and I can finally get back to writing extensions and provide bug-fixes to existing extensions.
